More About Kara

Kara is passionate about improving the lives of families in the community. As someone who was a caregiver for her mom, she can relate to and desires to offer support to families caring for a loved one.

When Kara was a junior is college, her mom was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s. Kara’s family became caregivers and had to learn to do almost everything for her mother. This experience changed how Kara wanted to care for others going through experiences like her family. She knows first-hand the physical, mental, and emotional toll caregiving can have on a family. Kara wants to help others create wonderful memories of the times they have together.

Kara and her husband have two small dogs and a little boy. High school sweethearts originally from Normal, Illinois, moved to Indianapolis after graduating from Anderson University. They love playing board games, attending trivia nights, traveling, and frequenting coffee shops. They also love Disney, and Kara enjoys riding her motorcycle on sunny days. They also volunteer with the Indianapolis Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and participate in their Walk to End Alzheimer’s every year.

“I am inspired every day by my mom. My goal is to live my life like she lived hers. She was an amazing woman who made everyone she encountered instantly feel loved. She inspired me to love and care for everyone around me and to always do my best to improve their lives.”
