AVA = Accessible Van Assistance

The Muscular Dystrophy Family Foundation has established a new program to assist families affected by muscular dystrophy who are in the process of purchasing a vehicle and need help closing the financial gap to bring their vehicle home. This program is called AVA = Accessible Van Assistance.

This program is for partial van assistance. Given the high price of accessible vehicles, we want to help offset those costs as best we can. You will need to provide a down payment, current vehicle trade-in value to help offset the cost of the van (if applicable), possible Medicaid Waiver funds, potential personal fundraising efforts, loan financing, etc. AVA assistance is just one piece of the puzzle.

How does it work?
Step 1: Enroll with MDFF
Step 2: Complete our online financial assistance form. If you meet the basic criteria, we send you the full 4-page application for requesting partial van assistance.
Step 3: Complete the full application we provide and send it back to us.

Funding is determined on a case-by-case basis upon meeting the requirements to apply for AVA, as well as a completed application with required information.
